Resident was created by Kate Boyes, a chartered surveyor and property manager who has been letting and managing property for 15 years. Through her work Kate recognised a need for a more cost-effective solution that modernises block management and makes it more accessible and transparent, and so Resident was born.

Kate has a first class honours degree in Land Management from the University of Reading specialising in Investment & Finance, and trained at Nelson Bakewell (now Capita Symonds), a Property Consultancy, in London. She qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 2004, and is a Fellow & Board member of ARLA.

Kate established Alexandre Boyes Residential lettings in 2003 and Alexandre Boyes Estate & Block Management in 2007. The award winning teams have been shortlisted and won silver in The Times & Sunday Times Letting Agency of the Year Awards and The Sunday Times / Times Property Awards and won Lettings Office of the Year at the West Kent Property Awards. Not only that, Alexandre Boyes won Property Management Company of the Year in 2015 at The Negotiator Awards.

In it’s first year, Resident has won bronze for Best Online Business in the Kent Digital Awards and was a finalist for the Best Services Provider at the News on the Block Property Management Awards.

Resident® Management Team

Kate Boyes - Managing Director

Kate has been letting and managing property for 15 years, she channeled this experience into designing Resident which launched in 2014. Kate is also Managing Partner of an award winning property management company in Tunbridge Wells.

Kate has a first class honours degree in Land Management from the University of Reading specializing in Investment & Finance, and trained at Nelson Bakewell (now Capita Symonds), a Property Consultancy, in London. She qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 2004, and is a Fellow of ARLA. She became a Board member of ARLA in June 2015, representing Kent, Essex, Norfolk, Suffolk & Cambridgeshire.

In her spare time Kate spends time with her three children at home in Tunbridge Wells or Salcombe.

Jon Burrough - Director of Sales

Jon brings a wealth of experience to the Resident team, having spent the last 10 years working in the online property sector.

He joins us from Zoopla, the UK's most comprehensive property website, where as Key Account Director he was responsible for developing online marketing partnerships with UK estate agents, letting agents and property developers. He has a deep understanding of the commercial world. As Regional Sales Manager for Rightmove, he also covered the Overseas market before moving to PropertyFinder to manage Major Accounts.

When he is not sealing another successful business deal you can find him on the cricket pitch or golf course enjoying the lovely British outdoors. On rainy days he devotes time to his other passion, wine tasting.

Diogo Xavier Luis - Head of Development

Diogo has 10 years experience in delivering technology for many Fortune 500 companies. His projects have ranged from Business Intelligence, web development, project management solutions and financial applications. He has played broad range of roles, from business analysis to software development, and project management to software architecture. With a very diverse broad skill-set and successfully projects to back it up, he enjoys delivering great solutions rather than thinking of job titles.

He has a passion for technology and the change it can produce. Apathy is his worse nightmare.

Diogo’s heads the development of resident.uk.com, which includes defining product architecture, development roadmap, quality assurance and project management. He still has time to look at some code.

Sandro Maio - Senior Developer

Sandro has 10 years experience developing products tailored for customers with different business needs. Working in distinct areas such as fashion, science, travel and banking, he has successfully performed different roles such as software development and architecture, project management, team leadership and stakeholder management.

He faces each day as new challenge, aiming to improve his technical knowledge and making technology easier to use for the customer. He loves the fact that his work will improve someones day.

Sandro likes to learn about mythology whilst playing the guitar or pumping some iron. The dream of every developer.

Michal Marek - Head of Support

Michal has 7 years experience providing exceptional customer service. This was gained working for international corporations and local businesses. He approaches issues with a positive attitude which comes from the belief that if every problem has as reason, there must also be a solution for it. Michal has a Masters in Applied Mathematics which he completed at Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland.

Outside work he loves going for hiking trips and better still for trail runs. He has many active pursuits but at the end of the day he says that nothing beats settling down with a drink to read a great book.
